The Lake County Planning Commission sat in session at 5:00 p.m. on this date and
conducted hearings and other business.


I-25-024r– Motion by J. Ernest supported by B. Ernest to recommend to County Board 5-year approval with conditions of a renewal interim use application for a vacation rental home filed by Sisu House, LLC at 5506 Little Marais Road, Finland, MN 55603. The
property is described as: That Part of NW 1/4 of SW 1/4 SW of CO Hwy in Section 22, Township 57, Range 7, 5 acres, zoned nonshoreland, R-2/Residential District, 5 acre minimum, Crystal Bay Township. PID: 27-5707-22560. Motion carried; Bathke, J. Ernest, B. Ernest, Guenthner, and Mayer voted in favor; none opposed. (PCR-25 030)

property is described as: That Part of Lot 2 lying Nly of Old Us Hwy NO 61 as desc in BK 131 of Deeds pg 630 in Section 29, Township 52, Range 11, 26.4 acres, zoned shoreland (NSMZ), R-4/Residential District, 2 acre minimum, Unorganized Territory #2. The property is described as: E 200 ft of W 650 ft of Govt Lot 3 lying S of centerline of US Hwy No 61 in Section 22, Township 53, Range 10, 2.03 acres, zoned shoreland (NSMZ), R-4/Residential District, 2 acre minimum, Silver Creek Township. PID: 29-5310-22400. Motion carried; Bathke, J. Ernest, B. Ernest, Guenthner, and Mayer voted in favor; none
opposed. (PCR-25-032)


I-25-027i– The initial interim use application for a vacation rental home filed by Under Pine Skies LLC at 480 Kawishiwi Trail, Ely, MN 55731 was withdrawn. The property is described as: E 130 ft, part of vacated lane between blocks 6 & 7 & part of vacated White Iron Drive as desc in Cert of Titles 37 pg 194, Lot 1, Block 5, Lot 19 Block 5, Lot 2 Block 5, & Lot 3 Block 5 in Silver City Plat, in Section 32, Township 63, Range 11, 1.24 acres, zoned shoreland ( Farm & White Iron Lakes), RR/ Residential Recreation District, 1 acre minimum, Fall Lake Township. PID: 28-6383-05200.

C-25-009– Motion by Guenthner supported by Mayer to approve with conditions a conditional use application for a kennel of up to 50 sled dogs filed by Shawn & Kristen McCarty at 10125 Bandana Lake Road, Isabella, MN 55607. The property is described as: Lot 4 in Section 19, Township 60, Range 9 & SE 1/4 of SE 1/4 in Section 24, Township 60,Range 10, 76.01 acres, zoned shoreland (Bandana Lake), FR/Forest Recreation District, 10 acre minimum, Stony River Township. PID: 20-6009-19610 / 6010-24910. Motion carried; Bathke, J. Ernest, B. Ernest, Guenthner, and Mayer voted in favor; none opposed. (PCR-25-033)

Motion by Guenthner supported by J. Ernest to approve the September 15, 2025
minutes as submitted. Motion carried, Bathke, J. Ernest, B. Ernest, Guenthner, and Mayer voted in favor, none opposed.

Motion by E. Ernest supported by Mayer to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried; Bathke, J. Ernest, B. Ernest, Guenthner, and Mayer voted in favor, none opposed. Meeting adjourned at 7:14 p.m.
