Brimson Strong is planning on kicking off a series of community fundraisers with a Benefit Concert on Saturday November 15, hosted at Hugo’s Bar in Brimson. The event, featuring live music from Northwoods Band, be gins at 5 p.m. and promises a night of music, support, and community spirit.
The concert, which will feature a benefit raffle, is part of a broader effort to assist residents still recovering from the Brimson Complex Fires earlier this year. Brimson Strong recently shared that families are still in need of bedframes, dressers, desks, end tables, and oak furniture.
To help meet needs for essential household items, the group has curated an Amazon Registry, with items starting at just $6. The link is available on their Facebook page.
Residents still seeking assistance can fill out application forms at Hugo’s Bar, the Brimson Post Office, or by email. The deadline to apply has been extended to December 1. Urgent requests include help rebuilding a resident’s outhouse and support for snow removal as winter approaches.
Brimson Strong is also calling on the community to help plan future fundraisers. They’re looking for:
• Venues willing to host events
• Musicians and entertainers
• Food trucks and vendors who can donate a portion of proceeds or set up a booth
• Artists and crafters to contribute raffle items or host tables
• Volunteers to assist with planning, setup, and operations
As the first event in a hope fully growing series of fundraisers, the November 15 concert is more than a fundraiser, it’s a rallying point for neighbors to come together and re build, one act of generosity at a time.
