Your Vote Counts!

By Dan Schleeter, Chair, Lake County Republicans

February 27th is precinct caucus night. Republicans across Minnesota will be gathering in their neighborhoods. It will be an opportunity to meet with your like-minded neighbors and discuss issues like runaway inflation, securing the border nationally, and how to fight back against the trifecta control of our state government.

At the Lake County Republicans caucuses, we will vote on delegates to begin the first step in choosing our candidates for election for everything from MN House Districts to the U.S. President, and we will propose and discuss resolutions as the first step in forming our state and national party platforms.

The Lake County Republicans caucuses will be on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 7:00 PM. Doors open at 6:30. Join us!

There are three caucus locations in Lake County depending on what part of the County you live in, as explained below.

Western Lake County (including Knife River, Two Harbors, Silver Creek, and Castle Danger) will meet at the Two Harbors Community Center, 417 South Avenue, Two Harbors. The site convener will be Dan Schleeter, Chair. The Two Harbors location will be for the following ten Lake County Precincts: Unorganized Territory #2 precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5, Two Harbors Wards 1, 2, 3, & 4, and Silver Creek Township.

Eastern Lake County (including Silver Bay, Beaver Bay, Isabella, Finland, Little Marais) will meet at Mary Macdonald Business Center, 99 Edison Blvd, Silver Bay. The site convenor will be Catherine Miller, Deputy Chair. The Silver Bay location will be for the following eight Lake County Precincts: Beaver Bay (City), Beaver Bay Township precincts 1 & 4, Crystal Bay Township, Silver Bay Precincts 1 & 2, Stony River Township, and Unorganized Township #1.

Northern Lake County (Fall Lake Township east of Ely), will meet at Vermillion Community College, 1900 E Camp Street in Ely.

If you do not know your precinct, we will help you when you arrive at your location, or go to www.gis.leg.mn/iMaps/precincts type in your address, press enter and a box will pop-up showing you your precinct.

The Lake County Republicans caucuses are open to any Lake County resident who agrees with the principles of the Republican Party. Those principles include support for the Constitution, the right to keep and bear arms, strong national defense, border security, protecting the unborn, fair election processes, and mining, among others. Although anyone who identifies with these Republican values will be welcome, only those eligible to vote by Election Day on November 5th can participate. Attendees are welcome to participate or simply observe.

Political party actions and candidates are shaped directly by the people who show up and participate.

Governmental policy and success for the people reflect the effectiveness of your personal political activity. The Lake County Republicans look forward to having you with us. Make sure your vote counts. Attend your precinct caucus.
