I don’t know the reason for the Friday protest along 7th Avenue in Two Harbors, and honestly, the reason doesn’t really matter to me. What concerns me is that I can’t get to my mom’s grave without encountering people who are involved with the protest, and I don’t care for that. Sure, the protesters seem to be peaceful. They smile and wave, but frankly, I am not feeling particularly cheerful, especially nearing the anniversary of my mom’s death. I want to be left alone with my thoughts and prayers in a place that I consider to be holy and sacred, and I’d like to see the protesters find a different location for their parking and gathering. I don’t believe anyone should have to avoid the cemetery on a particular day and time each week. I think our cemetery should be sacred and visitable – the whole cemetery and every grave – at all times. I politely and respectfully ask that the protesting group consider changing their location.
Sincerely,

I’d like to propose a new idea to you and the city. If the city fully intends to go forward with plans to have super neat clean yards in Silver Bay – might I ask you to seriously consider building or remodeling somewhere like Mary MacDonald to provide clean, dry, safe, inexpensive storage for the people only of Silver Bay. A condition to resolve a specific problem to Silver Bay with its small houses & small lots & the rules. Owners are really limited to what they can do! Individual, private openings would need to be made that would have a door and be lockable.
Same way if boats, trailers, campers, etc are also going to be not permitted – the city needs to provide a safe storage place for these items of value also. Even at best, this will be an real inconvenience to property owners as it all seems so totally unnecessary. These are people of the town who own their things and pay taxes should not have to worry about these additional problems forced upon these issues.
I feel this could be a win-win for the city and the residents of Silver Bay. I would hope a grant could be made to cover such a community need
If Mary Mac doesn’t work – maybe somewhere dry, out on or by the airport that would not be seasonal, or somewhere else like the 40 acres in upper town as a partial use of the city’s choosing. Further – this would largely affect senior citizens. I’d hope the cost could be kept down to $50-$100 a month.
This would be tremendous help/aid to the City of Silver Bay.
It would also be appreciated if Silver Bay would post in the local paper (like Cook County does) what grants have been awarded, for how much, and where the money is going-where to. Perhaps intended purpose as well. Your time is greatly appreciated
Sincerely,
