(Grand Marais, MN – March 19, 2026) Sawtooth Mountain Clinic’s Oral Health Task Force (OHTF) is thrilled to announce an expansion of their financial assistance program for dental services!
Since 2013, the OHTF has worked in collaboration with Grand Marais Family Dentistry and regional grantors to ensure dental care is affordable and accessible. What started as a program for school-aged children has grown to include young people up to 26 years old, expectant moms, uninsured or underinsured seniors 65 and over, and members of the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
As of April 1st, financial assistance for dental services will also be available for those 27-64 years of age as part of a pilot program. The financial assistance package covers 90% of the cost of preventative services such as x-rays, exams, and cleanings, as well as basic restorative work. To receive financial assistance for dental services, please fill out an application at Sawtooth Mountain Clinic (SMC) or Grand Marais Family Dentistry (GMFD). Applications can also be found at sawtoothmountainclinic.org. Proof of income is required within 30 days of submitting the completed application. Forms can be completed at the time of your appointment.
If you have questions or need help with the application, call Bonnie Dalin, OHTF program coordinator at 218-370-2559.
To schedule a dental exam appointment, call GMFD at 218-387- 2774.
