Dive into Fun: Two Harbors City Rec’s Exciting Spring and Summer Activities

As the aquatics director of Two Harbors City Rec, Erin Aho has curated an impres­sive array of activities for the spring and upcoming summer seasons. From poolside play to golf lessons and weight train­ing, there’s something for ev­eryone to enjoy while staying active and engaged.

POOL ACTIVITIES:

Dive into refreshing fun with open swimming sessions at the high school pool, running from June 10th onwards, Monday through Thursday, 10:00-11:00 AM. With a nominal fee of just $2 per swimmer and convenient punch passes available, fam­ilies can splash into summer without breaking the bank. Lap swimmers will have a dedicat­ed lane for their workouts.

For a splash of fitness, Water Aerobics sessions will be held every Monday and Wednesday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM throughout June and July. Get ready to tone and energize in the water for just $25.00 per person.

Young swimmers aged 3 and above can make a splash with private swimming lessons, of­fered twice a week throughout July. Registration opens on June 24th at 6:00 PM, so be sure to secure your spot early as these sessions fill up fast.

Introducing Parent and Me swimming lessons, a new pro­gram designed to provide ex­tra support for nervous young swimmers. Parents can join their kids in the pool for added reassurance. Registration for this class also opens on June 24th at 6:00 PM.

Families with children who have physical or cognitive dis­abilities can enjoy Adaptive Swim sessions starting July 8th. This inclusive program offers a relaxed environment for families to have fun and build water confidence togeth­er. Priced at $50 per person, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

BEYOND THE POOL:

Tee off into summer with golf lessons at Lakeview Golf Course, available for kids in grades 5 and up. Classes for different age groups run from June 11th to July 30th, offering a fantastic opportunity to learn and improve your swing.

Pickleball enthusiasts can hone their skills at Sonju Arena from June 11th to August 15th, with sessions running from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. It’s a great way to stay active and socialize during the summer months.

For students in grades 7 through 12, weight training sessions are available at the Two Harbors High School weight room, starting June 10th from 8:00 to 10:00 AM. Get ready to pump some iron and build strength for the upcom­ing sports season.
