Duluth, MN – The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging is pleased to offer its congratulations to the 2024 Minnesota Live Well at Home grant recipients from the Arrowhead region. These grants are awarded by the Minnesota Department of Human Services to organizations and individuals who are committed to improving the quality of life for older adults in our communities.
The Minnesota Live Well at Home grant program aims to support innovative projects that promote independence, wellness, and community engagement among older adults. By funding selected recipients, this program plays a significant role in helping to strengthen aging services and address the needs of older adults in our region.
Proposals focused on a variety of areas, including caregiver support, social engagement, healthcare access, and senior wellness. By addressing these critical areas, these individuals and organizations are helping to create a more inclusive and age-friendly environment for older adults in our communities.
In the latest round of grants, regional recipients funded include Access North (Hibbing), Age Well Arrowhead (Duluth), Aitkin County CARE (Aitkin), ANGELS (McGregor), Cook County Public Health (Grand Marais), ElderCircle (Grand Rapids), Interfaith Volunteers (Deerwood), North Shore Area Partners (Silver Bay), and Volunteer Services of Carlton County (Carlton).
“We continue to be inspired by our partners for the incredible work being done to support older adults’ well-being, promote independence, and foster age-friendly communities. Through programs like the Minnesota Live Well at Home grants, we continue to work towards creating an inclusive society where older adults can thrive,” said Kristi Kane, Director, Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging.
