Looking for a fun, hands-on way to express your creativity and celebrate reading? Join in the fun at the Grand Marais Public Library for Let’s Make Bookmarks! — a free event for community members of all ages. Wednesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 PM. Participants can drop in or stay for the full session—with no registration requirements, the workshop is flexible enough for both.
Led by local author and creativity guide Jennifer Shoals, this relaxed and engaging event invites participants to design their own collage-style bookmarks using words and images from magazines or their own hand-drawn artwork. All supplies — from tag board to scissors, markers, glue sticks, and lamination — are provided. Each unique creation can be laminated by library staff and taken home, ready to mark your place in your next great read. The library asks that adults accompany young artists to help them navigate the creative process.
“This is a great opportunity for people of all ages to express themselves through art while supporting a love of books,” says Shoals, who has authored three books and more than 600 blogs exploring expanded consciousness.
