DULUTH, Minn. – On Monday, Oct. 3, Highway 61 traffic was shifted onto the newly constructed Silver Creek Bridge and temporary bypass. The intersection of Loop Road and Highway 61 also reopened on Oct. 3. During the switch, traffic was reduced to a single lane under flaggers. Grading work will continue at Silver Creek through late October with no traffic impacts expected.
Work on both the Stewart River Bridge and the Silver Creek bridge will resume in spring 2023.
