If you are reading this, I must have died. It doesn’t matter how, what, when, where or why because we all have to go sometime.
Judith Ann French, 83, of Two Harbors, died Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Lake View Hospital.
Judy was born on August 22, 1940, to Howard and Lois (Larson) Loraas in Duluth. She graduated from UMD with bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Psychology and was employed as a computer programmer and analyst for many years. She also operated “Proofit”, a proofreading business from her home. Judy held two U.S. patents and was the primary researcher and second author on two peer-reviewed, published scientific papers in Inorganic Chemistry. She also held another patent for fabric gift wrap.
She was a former member of the Two Harbors Rotary and enjoyed her dogs and proofreading. In recent years, her enjoyment has been telling jokes to neighbors and with people she met at the waterfront parking lot.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard (Judy) Loraas.
She is survived by her husband, Brad; sons, David and Daniel (Sarah) Drummond; grandchildren, JJ, Lena, and Mary; step-daughters, Kristine French and Jill (Duncan) Angove; and step-grandchildren, Clay, Nicholas and Abby.
Services will be held in Spring 2024 at Cavallin Funeral Home in Two Harbors, followed by burial in Lakeview Cemetery. A brief notice will be published beforehand. To share a memory or leave an online condolence, visit www.cavallinfuneralhome.com.
