Robert Martinsen, 72, of Silver Bay, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at home.
He was born April 29, 1951, to John and Joyce (Olson) Martinsen in Amery, WI. Bob moved to Silver Bay as a child and after high school served in the US Navy. Upon his discharge, Bob worked in California and Pennsylvania before returning to Silver Bay where he was employed as a contractor with Petro Choice at Northshore Mining until health problems forced his retirement.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, reading, and the Packers. Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Lynette Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; a daughter, Caitlin Martinsen; sons, Michael, Christopher, and Brian Martinsen; step-sons, Josh (Ashley) and Justin Aldinger; grandkids Destiney (Austin) Peterson, Trevor (Jade) McCleod and Ivy and Grant Aldinger; great-grand-children, Archer and Brandon McCleod; brothers, Barry (Rhonda) and Brian (Cheryl) Martinsen; sister, Kathy (Dennis) Albrecht; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Bay Area Vineyard in Silver Bay.
