Grand Marais, MN – Starting on October 1, 2026 – The Grand Marais Public Library is excited to welcome families back for a brand-new season of Storytime, launching this October. The free program is specifically geared toward preschool-aged children and will take place throughout the fall at 10:30 AM.
The Storytime season will begin on Thursday, October 1 at 10:30 AM. Other Thursday Storytime dates include: October 8, 22, 29 / November 12 and 19 / December 3, 10, 17.
Each scheduled session is thoughtfully structured to blend education with play, combining captivating picture books with an amazing activity. The program aims to help children build critical readiness skills by focusing on early literacy milestones, including vocabulary development, phonetic awareness, and core social-emotional growth like active listening and taking turns. An alternative activity will be provided during Storytime for older children who attend with a younger sibling or friend.
Following the interactive stories, families are invited to stay for a simple, hands-on craft activity explicitly designed to strengthen fine motor skills. After the session, parents, caregivers, and children are encouraged to browse the library’s children’s section to check out a fresh bundle of books to take home!
