TWO HARBORS, Minn. – Jeff Phillipich has been named Vice-President of Lending at Two Harbors Federal Credit Union (THFCU). He succeeds Darla Abrahamson, who retired earlier this month.
Phillipich brings 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, with expertise in consumer lending, operations, and strategy. He most recently served as Development Director for Center City Housing Corporation in Duluth.
Jeff is a member of the board of directors for True North Goodwill and the Lake Superior Youth Chorus. In addition he serves on the board for the St. Louis County Continuum of Care, a regional strategic planning body dedicated to reducing homelessness, and the Family Homeless Prevention Assistance Program (FHPAP) Advisory Council, a group that assists individuals and families unhoused or at risk of homelessness.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Jeff to the THFCU family,” said Randy Willert, Two Harbors Federal Credit Union President and CEO, “his decades-long career demonstrates a passion for the financial well being of his community. That aligns with our core values and mission of people helping people. It’s a perfect match.”
Phillipich is originally from Chisholm, and a graduate of The College of St. Scholastica. His family returned to northern Minnesota after living a few years in the Dallas, Texas area.
His time with THFCU began in late July as he transitioned into his new role, so Phillipich has already enjoyed several weeks with the credit union’s members and staff. “THFCU has been a staple in this community for nearly 80 years, and it shows,” he said, “They’re deeply rooted in the community, with many long-term, dedicated member-owners that truly love their credit union. I’ve enjoyed meeting many of them already, and look forward to connecting with more.”
Two Harbors Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned by the members it serves. Founded in 1948 by a handful of Two Harbors residents seeking an alternative to commercial banks, the credit union has since grown to serve thousands of area individuals and families. Membership is open to the public – those who live, work, attend school or worship in Lake County and surrounding townships are eligible to join.
The credit union has received multiple honors at the state and national level, including recent accolades for member service, leadership, and financial performance.
