On Monday, March 21st, after almost a year in the making, LP Building Solutions opened the LP Health and Wellness Center for employees, as well as for their spouses and dependants. Hosted in the Hahn Building at 709 23rd Ave, Two Harbors, the LP Health and Wellness Center will allow “greater flexibility for employees and their families to schedule and receive care,” says LP Building Solutions Senior Specialist in Corporate Communications Colby Wilson.
LP Health and Wellness Center started as a corporate initiative to provide another benefit to employees. LP contracted a third party, Premise Health, to provide healthcare, making the clinic completely independent. A mobile app to schedule appointments and a 24/7 telemedicine service helps make the clinic convenient to families.
LP estimates that the clinic will see approximately fifteen visits a month. The required yearly health risk assessment physical exam (HRA) can be provided by the clinic, and LP estimates that 75%-95% of employees will take their HRA through the clinic. Currently, there are 140 employees at the Two Harbors LP mill. With that number, plus spouses and dependents, the clinic will have a good client base.
The clinic will cover many health and wellness needs, including treatments for flus, colds, ear infections, and other minor ailments. Labs can be done on site. Mental health concerns and counseling options are available. Virtual and in-person appointments are offered, and the staff consists of a doctor via telehealth and an in-person RN. LP’s company purpose is “Building a better world”, and this clinic will hopefully help to build a better world for its employees.
