For residents who receive quarterly billing statements from the City of Silver Bay, effective 7/1/2026, you will find changes to your billing as it relates to garbage disposal. In addition, there will be changes to garbage and recycling collection so please clip and save this information.
Residential garbage rates will increase from $27.50 to $30.00 per month.
Pink Tags rates will increase to $2.50 per tag.

Fluorescent Bulbs 4-foot $2.00

Brush and yard waste disposal can be brought to 15 Golf Course Road for City of Silver Bay residents that receive quarterly utility and garbage billing only. Brush and debris collected by the City of Silver Bay, businesses, anyone doing work for profit, or any resident who does not receive a city utility bill will no longer be accepted as of 7-1-2026.
All garbage and recycling must be out on the boulevard by 8:00A.M. no matter your location in the city. Recycling and Garbage covered containers must be placed on opposite sides of the driveway to clearly indicate the two.
No pink tag is required on the first 32-gallon bag or garbage can each week. An approved pink tag must be attached to any additional bags or cans. Tags may be purchased at approved locations.
Starting October 1st, Recycling collection will be reduced and collected every other week on Wednesdays. Residents can bring recycling to be disposed of during open hours, but collection by D&D Services will be limited to the following dates for the 2026 and 2027 seasons:
OCTOBER 2026 – 10/7 and 10/21
NOVEMBER 2026 – 11/4 and 11/18
DECEMBER 2026 – 12/2, 12/16, and 12/30
JANUARY 2027 – 1/6 and 1/20
FEBRUARY 2027 – 2/3 and 2/17
MARCH 2027 – 3/3, 3/17, and 3/31
APRIL 2027 – 4/14 and 4/28
MAY 2027 – 5/12 and 5/26
JUNE 2027 – 6/9 and 6/23
JULY 2027 – 7/7 and 7/21
AUGUST 2027 – 8/4 and 8/18
SEPTEMBER 2027 – 9/1, 9/15, and 9/29
OCTOBER 2027 – 10/13 and 10/27
NOVEMBER 2027 – 11/10 and 11/24
DECEMBER 2027 – 12/8 and 12/22
Recycling must follow the following protocol:
1. All cardboard must be broken down and stacked.
2. Plastics, glass, and other recyclables must be in covered containers.
3. Recycling must be placed on the opposite side of the driveway from the garbage collection so that it is clear the difference from garbage.
