After a great season in 2025, which included winning both the East Range and Iron Range Conferences, the Agates return without Cade Peterson, who led the team last year and included his second straight trip to the State Golf Tournament. Cade is now playing college golf at UMD.
The Agates still have a lot of firepower with several players from the championship team returning this season. These players include senior Josh Johnson, sophomores Vaughn Christiansen and Axel Morsette, and freshman Gordy Goutermont.
The 2026 season started pretty early this year with their first meet at Swan Lake Country Club in Pengilly on April 20th. The Agates captured 2nd place with Goutermont leading the team with a 40, Johnson had a 41, Morsette 42, and Christiansen with a 44.
The team will be playing meets at many awesome courses this season, including The Quarry at Giants Ridge, The Legend at Giants Ridge, and The Wilderness at Fortune Bay. The East Range Conference final will be hosted by the team’s very own Lakeview National on May 21st.
