Kindred Studio, Permanent Cosmetics & Custom Body Art Open In Two Harbors

Two Harbors resident Desire’ Dalrymple recently opened Kindred Studio in the Landing Building at 629 7th Ave, 2nd Floor, in Two Harbors.

Desire’ offers a diverse menu of custom body art and permanent cosmetics, also known as para-medical tattooing, a critical tool for physical and psychological restoration.

She began her career as a traditional tattooist in 2000, adding permanent cosmetics in 2010. A Twin Cities native, she has traveled extensively but has been a resident of the North Shore for several years.

Desire’ holds a Fine Arts degree and has received intensive training at the International Institute of Permanent Cosmetics (IIPC) in Costa Mesa, CA. IIPC is one of the most prestigious centers in the world for training technicians in eyebrow hair simulation, eyeliner, and lip sparkling.

These treatments use specialized pigments, made to Desire’s specifications, to camouflage surgical scars, create the appearance of a natural areola following mastectomies, and restore the visual “wholeness” of skin affected by vitiligo or alopecia. Blending clinical precision with artistic detail, Desire’s procedures offer patients a path to reclaiming their self-image after significant trauma or illness. By masking visible signs of illness or injury, these treatments reduce the “daily reminder” of medical trauma, allowing individuals to move through the world without their condition being the first thing people notice.

Desire’ uses a consultative, individualized, custom approach for each client. “The healing experience releases a statement of who you are,” she said. Describing her style, Desire said, “I’m very compassionate.” She describes the new studio as an open space with a Nordic style. “It’s comfy and private,” she added. Her services are by appointment only, and no one can walk in to interrupt the one-on-one experience. That policy protects her commitment to make the space feel safe for all.

She named her studio Kindred to reflect her commitment to the belief that “We are all one, all together.”

Desire’ is a fully licensed professional. With years of experience, she knows how important it is to listen to each individual, help them identify the next steps, and avoid pressuring them to proceed. That is one reason she charges a $50 non-refundable deposit to hold a treatment appointment.

“Kindred Studio is a woman-owned business, and a safe space for all,” Desire’ said. Her philosophy is about the restorative and medical power of the needle.

The minimum age for body art clients is 20. She encourages anyone with questions to reach out to her. “Ask, don’t assume,” she says. The best way to reach her is by text or email. You can text her at 507-208-5015 or email her at kindredstudiomn@gmail.com.
