DALE P. KELLEY

Dale P. Kelley, 65, of Silver Bay, Minnesota, passed away on February 9, 2026, in Silver Bay. He was born on July 16, 1960, in Plattsburgh, New York.

Dale graduated from William M. Kelley High School in Silver Bay in 1979. He was known for his easygoing nature and calm demeanor, and he found great enjoyment in spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Dale also worked for many years in the kitchen at Bluefin Bay in Tofte, Minnesota, where he was a valued member of the team.

Dale proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Private First Class (E-3) with Company B, 94th Engineer Battalion, USAREUR. He served from March 31, 1982, until his honorable discharge on April 18, 1985, separating at Fort Dix, New Jersey. During his service, he earned the Sharpshooter Badge (M-16 Rifle), Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Overseas Service Ribbon (USAG Darmstadt Army Base in Germany). His primary specialty was Food Service Specialist, and he completed military training in food service and German language studies. Dale later continued his service in the United States Army Reserve with Company C, 367th Engineer Battalion, until his discharge on February 6, 1994.

He is survived by his mother, Grace H. (Powers) Kelley of Silver Bay, Minnesota; his brothers, Neil of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and Michael (Laurie Lukken) of Cloquet, Minnesota; as well as three nieces and one grandnephew.

No services are planned. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
