Grand Marais, MN, February 23, 2026 – Join the new Adult Services Librarian, Chris Determan, at Grand Marais Public Library for a fun, hands-on craft night. Create a unique glass and metal beaded bookmark on Wednesday, March 11 at 6pm. Geared for ages 10 and up, this event is part of our winter reading program and all are welcome to attend.
Supplies will be provided, and participants are encouraged to design a bookmark that reflects their own style. All skill levels are welcome. Adult supervision will be required for younger attendees as sharp tools will be used. Determan brings more than 20 years of beading experience, having developed her skills while working in a craft store environment. During her debut workshop, she will introduce you to the basic tools and basic techniques needed to create a metal and glass beaded bookmark.
The Grand Marais Public Library increases knowledge, inspires creativity, removes barriers, and builds community across Cook County. In other news, the library will be hosting The Skally Line, featuring old-time string band music by the Fred Keller trio, on Saturday March 21 at 12:30pm.
