CITY OF SILVER BAY RESOLUTION 2026 – #9 A RESOLUTION TO AMEND CITY CODE, SECTION 230.15, SUBD. 2

The City Council of the City of Silver Bay ordains that Chapter 2, Section 230.15, Subd. 2 of the City Code be amended to increase the Membership of the Mary Mac Business Center Committee from 5 members to 7 members. 

WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing on January 20, 2026 to take comments on the proposed amendment; and 

WHEREAS, the City Council reviewed all public comments and recommends approval of the amendment to Chapter 2, Section 230.15, Subd. 2 to increase the Committee membership from 5 members to 7 members.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Silver Bay ordains that Chapter 2 of the City Code be amended to read as follows:

230.15. Mary Mac Business Center Committee.

Subd. 2. Membership. The Council shall appoint a Mary Mac Business Center Committee consisting of not more than seven (7) members. One (1) member of the Committee shall be a Council member. The Council Member shall serve on the Committee during their respective term of office, unless otherwise determined by Council action. Of the remaining members, one (1) member shall be the Zoning Administrator, one (1) member shall be a representative of Lake County and four (4) members shall be appointed with preference given to domiciled residents of the City of Silver Bay, followed by commercial business property owners in the City who are domiciled residents in the 55614 zip code. If no domiciled residents or commercial business property owners apply for vacant positions, domiciled residents in the 55614 zip code, as defined above, may be appointed. A majority of the members of every Commission must be domiciled residents of the City of Silver Bay. “Domiciled residents” are defined as those having Lake County homestead tax status or who can provide other documentation of legal residence such as a driver’s license, voter registration card or Minnesota identification card.

The foregoing resolution offered by Council Member DeRosier and, upon the motion, supported by Council Member FitzGerald, was declared adopted this 20th day of January, 2026, by the following roll call vote: Member DeRosier, Member FitzGerald, and Mayor LeBlanc. Absent: Member Hoff, Member Bautch
