A Reporter’s Retrospective

Though I talk badly about 2025 looking back now I see the good stayed alive

It’s a privilege to report on games and all the scenes

I get to see the victories and write about good things

Hockey opened the winter with tournaments and grit

Teams with winning streaks that happily wouldn’t quit

The Winter Frolic hit the North Shore signing Day brought pride

Nordic skiers chased low snow and Hoops were in for the ride

Peewees earned their sendoff a coach hit forty years

Others earned awards like Coach of the Year

Moose facts filled a meeting

Cabin Fever packed a hall

I spun an April Fool’s story and talked Spring Cleaning with y’all

Summer bloomed with music

Wildflowers stealing the scene and though there were devastating fires

There was also a Strong community

Markets were filled with neighbors and authors toured the shore

Baseball and softball teams

Kept swinging more and more

Fall returned with football and volleyball held strong

Swimmers kept breaking records and cross country ran along

This winter has already proven to be fun with talented athletes

Getting the hard work done

I wrote just shy of two hundred stories this year,

So trust me when I say

This is only what fit in here

Looking forward to the good things in 2026 and something tells me

There will be plenty in the mix
