HERMANTOWN, Minn. — Clean Energy Economy MN (CEEM) proudly presented the 2025 Clean Energy Legislative Champion Award to Assistant Majority Leader Sen. Grant Hauschild (DFL-Hermantown) for his leadership on clean energy jobs, permitting reform, transmission and energy infrastructure, and policies that strengthen economic development in northern Minnesota.
“Sen. Hauschild has been a powerful voice for practical, community-focused clean energy solutions,” said CEEM Executive Director Gregg Mast. “His work at the Capitol has helped move Minnesota toward a more reliable, affordable, and forward-looking energy future. We are proud to recognize his leadership and his commitment to the economic vitality of the Iron Range and all of northern Minnesota.”
Representing communities across the Northland, Sen. Hauschild has played a key role on the Senate Environment, Climate, and Legacy Committee. His efforts have also helped advance bipartisan legislation that supports job creation, grid investments, and Minnesota’s long-term energy goals.
Sen. Hauschild has championed policies that create family-sustaining jobs and expand opportunities tied to clean energy, including efforts to grow the state’s energy efficiency workforce, support advanced manufacturing, and modernize the electric grid. He has also provided a strong, consistent voice for improving permitting processes that maintain environmental standards while reducing unnecessary delays for major energy and infrastructure projects. His work has elevated the connection between energy policy and regional competitiveness, helping northern Minnesota secure new opportunities in technology, infrastructure, and long-term industrial growth.
“I am honored to receive the Clean Energy Legislative Champion Award from CEEM,” said Sen. Hauschild. “Northern Minnesota has always powered the American economy, and our region’s workforce and natural resources will continue to be essential to building a clean energy economy. I am committed to supporting reliable, affordable energy while expanding economic growth and opportunity across the Northland.”
