Ervin E. Johnson, 92, of Two Harbors, MN, formerly of Silver Bay, passed away at The Waterview Shores Nursing home in Two Harbors on Thursday, October 3, 2025. He was born, December 6, 1932, in Little Falls, MN, to Walfred and Elsie (Anderson) Johnson.
Ervin attended Hermantown School, was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and worked 34 years for Reserve Mining Company in Silver Bay. He was a longtime volunteer for the Silver Bay Rescue Squad and Fire Department. Ervin owned several businesses in Beaver Bay, MN before retiring and building a home and small cattle ranch in rural Silver Bay.
He enjoyed woodworking, farming and running his businesses.
Ervin was preceded in death by two sons, Brett and Mark; his former wife Georgia; his parents, brothers, Dalbert, Floyd and Vernon; sisters, Lavina Maki, and Ivadell Johnson.
He is survived by one son, Keith (Karen) Johnson of Fort Myers, FL, daughters Cindy (Thomas Moore) of Ely, MN, Peggy (Thomas) Shaw of Lakeville, MN; Five Grandchildren, Raina, Seth, Robyn, Bjorn and Trevor; brothers, Kenneth (Margaret) of Hermantown, Marvin (Martha) of Saginaw; and numerous, nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. He is also survived by long term special friends Jason Nelson and
Caleb Nelson of Two Harbors and Rachel Wilcox of Brainerd.
Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM, Thursday, October 9, 2025, funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM, at Grace Lutheran Church, 5454 Miller Trunk Hwy, Hermantown, MN 55811.
