Hockey season may be over, but the ice is never empty for long. Across the region, kids are already counting down the days to the North Shore Hockey Camp. More than just a chance to sharpen their skills, the camp is a place to reconnect with teammates and create new memories—both on and off the rink.
Registration is now open for Silver Bay’s summer hockey camp, running from Saturday, July 19, to Friday, July 25. Last year, 140 players ages 5-18 hit the ice, a number that has steadily grown each year. Participants have traveled from as far as Austin, MN and the Twin Cities to take part.
“Once they come, they go the next year,” Nick Bjerken, president of the Silver Bay Blue Line Club, said in a 2024 interview, reflecting on the camp’s growing popularity.
“The North Shore Hockey Camp has quickly become a must-do summer event for hockey families,” boasts the camp’s registration webpage—and it’s easy to see why.
Nestled in Silver Bay, the camp is surrounded by breathtaking scenery and endless activities for the whole family. Whether you’re exploring
Black Beach and Split Rock Lighthouse, hiking Gooseberry Falls, or tackling ATV trails, the North Shore Adventure Park, and Black Beach Mini Golf, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Against this stunning backdrop, hockey takes center stage at Rukavina Arena. Players in every skill level—from Mites and Squirts to Peewees, 10U, 12U, Bantams, and high school junior and varsity players—are offered a fun and competitive environment. Instruction is top-notch and top shelf, with many current and former collegiate and professional players leading the way in various activities and multiple areas of focus including:
- On Ice Instruction
- Small Groups
- Daily Games
