Capping off an outstanding regular season with a dominant 20-3-1 record, the North Shore Storm girls hockey team has been a force to be reckoned with. Their determination, skillful play, and team chemistry have made them a powerhouse on the ice, and they head into the playoffs with a strong momentum.
Their first playoff game is set for February 8th, where they will face either Rock Ridge or Hibbing/Chisholm, the winner of the February 4th matchup (this game will still be in play at press time). The Storm will travel to Cloquet for the challenge, with the puck dropping at 3:30 PM. Looking ahead, the section final is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12th, also in Cloquet. That game will start at 7 PM.
The Wolverines closed out their regular season with a 10-11-4 record, wrapping up with a tough 8-2 loss against powerhouse Warroad, who boasts an impressive 22-3 record.
When North Shore faced Rock Ridge at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center on January 6th, they secured a solid 6-3 victory. The rematch at Rukavina Arena on January 14th saw the Storm prevail once again, this time with a 7-3 win.
The Hibbing/Chisholm Bluejackets closed their regular season with a 5-18- 2 record. North Shore edged them out in a tight 4-3 battle at Sonju Arena on November 19th. When the teams met again on January 22nd, the Storm controlled the game, skating to a 4-1 victory on the Bluejackets’ home ice.
