As the last remaining local propane company servicing the North Shore, Superior Fuel is excited to announce our plans to build a hub location with 30,000-gallon propane storage, service building, and a dedicated delivery truck and service boom truck at the intersection of Highway 1 and 61 in Illigen City, MN. This new facility will help us better serve our current customers and offer a more reliable and affordable option for all residents along the North Shore. This challenge is further heightened by the presence of large, multi-billion-dollar corporations like Thompson Gas, a private equity-backed company that owns both Como Oil and North Shore Oil. When a major player dominates the market, prices rise and service quality often becomes stagnant, leaving residents and businesses with fewer choices and reduced flexibility.
We aim to break that cycle by providing a local, community-focused alternative combining competitive prices and superior service. The addition of this hub location will enable us to hire local delivery drivers and service technicians who will be based right in the area.
