Dear Two Harbors Ward 4 Voters

My name is Todd Redmann and I’m running to be your representative on the Two Harbors City Council. Maybe like you, I was not “born and raised” in Two Harbors. When we sent our last child off to college 8 years ago, my wife and I— Christine–took the opportunity to move to the place we have always loved and enjoyed, Two Harbors.

Over the course of this summer and fall, It’s been my pleasure to visit every household in Ward 4 at least twice. I’ve had the privilege to talk to many of you about my reasons for seeking this position. For those I’ve missed, I’d like you to know a little more about me.

I am a former classroom Social Studies teacher, educational non-profit director, and have worked as a Social Worker at the county and state level, and now in the private sector as a Case Manager in the Aspirus St. Luke’s healthcare system.

I currently serve on the Two Harbors Planning and Zoning Commission, and have very much enjoyed the role of helping chart the future of our community. It’s an exciting time to live in Two Harbors, with a lot of important challenges and decisions which lie ahead. I want to help our city take advantage of the opportunities that might be in the offing, if we have the courage and expertise to act together and take advantage of them.

My vision for Two Harbors includes maintaining and improving the unique natural and historical amenities that have drawn my family to this area for decades. Two issues of particular importance to me are finding ways to support and grow our commercial-industrial tax base to take pressure off the community’s residential taxpayers. I am also very interested in finding creative ways to address the current senior and workforce housing shortages in our area.

Since Two Harbors went through the painful recall of its former mayor, I have been impressed with the leadership of our current mayor and council in working to restore effective, transparent governance to our community. I would like to be a part of that effort going forward.

As your council rep, I would seek to be your voice in our city’s governance. And I humbly ask for your support on November 5th.

Thank you,

Todd Redmann, Ward 4 Candidate
Two Harbors City Council
