Mary Anne Daniel’s bright and beautiful spirit left her body on August 14, 2024 from an infection caused by a rare tick-borne virus called Powassen.
As per her wishes she received a green burial so that her elements can rejoin the source from which we all come.
Mary Anne was an active student of philosophy, the holocaust and climate change. She loved music and knew the words to hundreds of songs from the past 50 years. She had a strong commitment to her community, serving as a firefighter, first responder and Duluth Township Supervisor.
Mary Anne loved ice cream and agates and her friends. She made beautiful jewelry and stained glass. Mary Anne was a lifelong learner and loved being a part of the University for Seniors at UMD.
She worked at the St. Cloud Hospital as a psychotherapist and chemical dependency counselor for 35 years. She and all her loved ones are forever proud for her 54 years of sobriety. Mary Anne had an intense interest in life and she had a knack for asking difficult questions which made us all think more deeply about ourselves and our lives.
Mary Anne was born in St. Cloud, MN on August 19, 1950. Her parents Edward Daniel Jr., Ruth Graham Daniel and her brother, Edward Daniel III have all gone before her.
Grieving her loss are her partner of 33 years, Judith Torrence, three beautiful nieces and a huge family of the heart.
