The North Shore Storm 12U girls hockey team spent the weekend of December 13-15 in International Falls, competing in their first tournament of the season—and they brought home the championship trophy!
The tournament opened on Friday with a strong performance against the Thunder Bay Fury, where the Storm claimed a 6-2 victory. Later that evening, they faced off against New Prague in a tightly contested game that ended in a 2-2 tie.
Saturday’s action began with a close battle against Moose Lake. The Storm held their ground and pulled ahead to secure a 4-3 win. That evening, they dominated Lake of the Woods, earning a 9-1 victory.
The team’s success earned them a spot in Championship Sunday. Facing the hometown International Falls Broncos, the Storm delivered, shutting out their opponents 6-0 to claim the title.
With this tournament win, the team improved to a 7-4-2 record. Their next tournament awaits in Silver Bay, where they’ll compete January 3-5.
