As the warm weather rolls in and community events return in full swing, Lake County Public Health is extending a friendly reminder to obtain a Special Event Food Stand License before serving food to the public.
Summer is a time to gather, celebrate, and share a meal. Whether you’re planning a cultural festival, an outdoor concert, or a charity fundraiser with food offerings, it is important to consider the health and safety of all attendees by complying with food safety regulations. The Special Event Food Stand License helps ensure food is prepared, stored, and served in a manner that meets public health standards. Even if you’re providing food free of charge, if it’s open to the public a license is likely required.
Special Event Food Stand Applications can be found on the county website at https://bit. ly/LC-Docs or by following the QR code in the image. Please submit your application at least 14 days prior to your event to avoid late fees. For more information, please contact the Lake County Public Health Department, Environmental Health Division, at 218-834- 8400.
