Joyann Parker Band to Perform Free Friday, July 28th Silver Bay Music in City Center Park Concert

Rocky Wall Productions announced that the “The Joyann Parker Band” will descend upon the City Center Park stage in downtown Silver Bay for a free concert at 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 28th. This is the third of eight free Friday night Silver Bay Music In The Park Concert Series events. “We are thrilled to be bringing The Joyann Parker Band to the City Center Stage in Silver Bay, ” said Rocky Wall Productions President Nelson French, “Parker has been tagged as a blues and rhythm-and-blues singer, but her music is so much more and is best described by the broader Americana label Her versatility and expansive range and influences moves from southern rock into funk and rhythm-and-blues and then on to Latin flavor. You don’t want to miss this show!”

With roots in the church and a solid foundation of musical education, Joyann Parker found her authentic voice later in life and created her own blend of roots music that combines soul, R&B, gospel, jazz and traditional blues styles. Parker has been a steadily rising star on the Midwest music scene and now brings her full range of talent as an accomplished singer, pianist, guitarist and songwriter to national and international stages.

About Joyann’s release of “Out of the Dark”, Star Tribune music critic Jon Bream said, “Triumphant…this self-released project is world-class. A deeply passionate, profoundly eclectic collection, ‘Out of the Dark’ is a giant step forward for Parker, ranging from Latintinged blues and New Orleans-flavored R&B to barroom boogie and pure ‘70s pop. With her dynamically emotional and goosebump-inducing voice, Parker is consistently convincing … songs also have the potential to heal others who might relate to her narratives.”

This FREE outdoor concert will be held on Friday, July 28th at Silver Bay’s City Center Park near City Hall. You are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and blanket for comfort. Feel free to show up downtown anytime after 6:00 pm. Emma’s Kitchen, Na-Cho Bizness, Southern Belle’s Sweets and The Treat Trike will be on site to meet your food, beverage and sweet needs. There will also be several local craft vendors including the Bay Area Historical Society and others featuring craft items including Rocky Taconite themed items. The vendors will be present before and during the concert.

Our fourth concert of the season will be on Friday, August 4th and will feature Pert Near Sandstone. Pert Near’s chemistry hearkens back to the family bands of yesteryear. They cut straight to the heart across the musical landscape of the Great North and beyond.

These are all-weather shows. In the case of inclement weather, the concerts will be moved indoors to the Reunion Hall, 97 Outer Drive, Silver Bay.
