Do you live, work or use services in Lake County? We want to hear from you! Thank you for taking our five-minute survey: surveymonkey.com/r/VGYKN37
Aspirus Lake View and Lake County Public Health are partnering again on a community health needs assessment. In addition to looking at available data regarding chronic diseases including heart disease, cancer, stroke, and high blood pressure, we’ll look at overdose rates and trackable effects of substance misuse. We’ll explore the data from the new Minnesota Student Survey, Bridge to Health and more.
While hard data is very valuable and will help inform our future work, we also want to hear from you. Which health behaviors concern you most? What about social and economic factors? The quality of our health is affected by so many things. What would you like us to know that is outside the boundaries of health data? Each multiple-choice question includes a place to add other information we may not have considered. The survey will only take about five minutes and is anonymous. There is also a way to enter your name into a drawing for a gift card. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts!
What happens next?
After we gather data, survey responses, and results from focus groups, we will make a Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). In the past, our CHIPs have guided us to prioritize an additional mental health professional at Lake View, telehealth technology in greater Lake County, and helping to fund another staff person to work on mental wellness at the Lake Superior School District. We also provided trainings, distributed gun locks, and information about the 988 crisis line.
This community work is enjoyable and helps us do the best we can with the resources we have while prioritizing the health of everyone in Lake County.
