Apple Tree Winter Pruning Class

Join the Lake County Extension Master Gardeners and learn how to properly prune your apple trees: When is the season to prune apple trees and why? What are the best tools to use? How do you decide which limbs to cut and which ones to keep? How do you make a tree-healthy cut on branches that need to be removed?

This will be an entirely outdoors class – dress for the weather. Attendees do not need to bring any tools or have any prior knowledge of pruning. There will be a demonstration of pruning techniques followed by hands-on learning. This class is designed for ages high school to adult.
