Summer months are winding down
And though it always feels too short
Student athletes, coaches, and fans
Are excited to begin fall sports
We’re ready to file into the gymnasiums
Onto the fields and to swimming pools
Fans will sit on benches and bleachers
Showing pride for our local schools
We’ll cheer for the Two Harbors Agates
And for the Mariners in Silver Bay
We’ll root for the Vikings in Cook County
And Team Storm, where multiple schools play
Over the summer vacation
Many kids went to clinics and camps |
Others joined in summer leagues
(Volleyball players became national champs!)
Their hard work will pay off
And I’m sure they’ll do great
It’ll be a fun season this year
Shared with their teammates
The coaches are just as excited
Many posted “Happy First Day!” and more

Is just like Christmas Eve to her
