Senior night is a highlight of every season. With bright, talented student-athletes like those I have the privilege to report on, I’m always eager to hear about the plans these seniors have for their future.
Recently, the Two Harbors Volleyball team held their senior night during a match against the International Falls Broncos. The Agates secured a sweeping victory, taking the game in three sets with scores of 25- 9, 25-22, and 25-23. This win brought their impressive season record to 14-2.
Rachel Bopp, one of the team’s three seniors, dominated the court with 16 kills. Fellow senior Addison Bentler added a powerful ace to the scoreboard. Junior Brooklyn Nelson played a pivotal role with 16 assists, while her classmate Delaney Nelson tallied 21 digs. Sophomore Alicia Hurd also contributed significantly on defense, recording 22 digs for the evening.
It was a fitting night to honor the senior trio of Bopp, Bentler, and Lauren Pinnell. Bopp plans to continue her volleyball career at the University of Minnesota Morris while pursuing a degree in finance. Reflecting on her time with the program, she shared in the senior night flyer, “My favorite part about the TTHS program is how far we’ve come—not only in success but in gaining life qualities like resilience, determination, and accountability.”
Bentler is looking toward a career in the medical field, aspiring to become a radiologic technologist or medical sonographer. She remarked, “My favorite part of being in this program is the friendships I’ve made and the positive impact it has had on my life.”
Pinnell, headed to the University of Minnesota Duluth to study biology with the goal of becoming a physician assistant, echoed her teammates’ sentiments: “My favorite part of being in the THHS Volleyball program is all the memories with my teammates! I love that we start laughing at random moments and just have fun as a team.”
Best of luck to Rachel, Addison, and Lauren in your future endeavors! Congratulations to the Agates Volleyball team on their outstanding season so far!
