As of May 12, 2023, Eckbeck Campground and day use area is currently closed for all use, due to extreme winter storm damage and a spruce budworm infestation. Assessments and removal of a great number of hazard trees will need to be performed before the area is safe for visitors. The campground will reopen as soon as it is safe, but with this degree of damage, it is expected to be closed for two to four months.
