Virgina E. Cooley, (Ginny) 89, of Tofte, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
Ginny (the beautiful one) was born on June 26, 1934, in San Antonio, Texas. She lived in Chicago, IL, before moving to Saint Paul, MN. She met Fred Cooley at a USO social, whom she dated and later married. In 1989, they moved to Tofte, MN.
Ginny was employed as a hairdresser for several years before working at Montgomery Wards in the mail order department and then working at the Science Museum of Minnesota as a guard along with Fred. After Ginny and Fred moved to Tofte, she soon started working in the reception area at The Chateau LeVeaux.
Her interests included marching with the Brass INC Drum and Bugle Corps, karate, oil painting, and listening to Mexican music.
Joining the Bone Builders, she enjoyed and shared her love of exercise and being healthy. Ginny was very devoted to her faith which, guided her throughout her life.
The nature and calm of Tofte, MN spoke to Ginny and Fred, they went on many nature walks which Ginny continued after his passing.
She is preceded in death by her husband Fred Cooley, brother Juan (Martha) Garay and daughter Angelica Josephson (Cooley),
She is survived by her son Michael; grandchildren, Lanee, Matthew, Sonja, Kristine, Katherine, and Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Mariah, Angelina, Addison, Harrison, Evelyn, and Ava; and her great-great-grandchild, Eleanor. Nieces Aurdry, Olga & Nephew’s Manuel, Ivan Garay.
