DARLENE (DAR) KOSOLOWSKI

May 27, 1936 – December 26, 2025

Darlene (Dar) Kosolowski passed away Friday, December 26th at the Waterview Shores Skilled Nursing Home. With family by her side she slipped away to meet the others.

Darlene was born May 27, 1936 to Wilma Wills and Schubert Dankers in Lake City, Minnesota.

She spent her early childhood years in the Red Wing area and later moved to Two Harbors with her stepfather and family. Darlene went to and graduated from Two Harbors High School class of 1954 where she met and married Paul (PRT) Richard Turnquist. Darlene and Paul had three children, Robin, Dan and Bill, they spent 20 years together. Dar was a homemaker when the kids were young, as the kids grew so did she, that is when she started her secretarial career. In 1975 Darlene met and married Alexander Kosolowski and moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada where they lived for forty years until the passing of Alex March 30, 2015. Mom liked to cook, clean and plan events, she and Alex were good hosts. Darlene retired in 1999 from the Children’s Centre in Thunder Bay. Mom and Alex spent many years as snowbirds in Arizona and later in Florida. In 2010 she met her father, his name was Schubert Dankers, alive and living in Naples, Florida. Her first visit was nerve-wracking and exciting. Darlene continued to visit him in Florida and eventually moved in with him until his death on January 9, 2019 he was 105 years old.

Mom will be fondly remembered by her family and friends. Sister, Janice (Pape) Parmer of Arizona; Robin and Steve Detlefsen, Dan Turnquist, Bill Turnquist; Grandchildren, Danielle, Desiree, Chasity, Chase, Drew, and Zachary; Blended Family children, Kim, Laura, Terry, & Tracy Kosolowski.
