Arthur Jeffrey Ernest Jr. passed away peacefully at home at the age of 67 surrounded by his family, after a 14 month battle with renal cell carcinoma. Arthur was born in Ontonagon, MI on May 24th, 1957. He grew up in Sawbill Landing and spent most of his life logging in Isabella, MN. He attended high school in Silver Bay, MN. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the US NAVY and spent four years traveling the world as an aviation mechanic, on a USS Ranger. After his time in the military, he moved back to his home in Isabella where he met his wife of 32 years, Pamela, and they had their only daughter Erika. Arthur or “Bowser” as many knew him by, was an extraordinary husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. His favorite thing to do was logging which he was superior at, and spending time with family. Arthur was a very humble man who took great pleasure in providing for his wife and daughter and loved gift giving. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and being the “jokester.” He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need or lend a helping hand in any way that he could. He is already very missed by all who knew him. Arthur is preceded in death by his father Arthur Joseph Ernest Sr, mother Sharon Francis Ernest, and brother Brock Edward Ernest. He is survived by his wife Pamela Jean Ernest, daughter Erika Elizabeth Ernest (William), sister Cindy Mattfield (Weldon), brothers Peter Ernest (Diane) and Joseph Ernest (Penny), and many Nephews and Nieces. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm Saturday August 24th, 2024 at the Isabella Community Center in Isabella, MN.
