NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, the following described parcels of land forfeited to the State of MN for nonpayment of taxes have been classified and appraised as provided by law, and such parcels shall be sold on the following terms, to wit: All listed properties will be offered for sale to the highest bidder at public auction in two auction periods. Properties will first be offered at an Estimated Market Value (EMV) Auction for no less than the estimated market value as determined by the most recent assessment. Properties unsold after the EMV Auction may be purchased at not less than the estimated market value in the Office of the County Auditor for a period of 30 days. Tracts remaining unsold after the 30-day period will be subsequently offered at a Minimum Bid Auction for no less than the sum of delinquent taxes, special assessments, penalties, interest, and costs assigned to the parcel. Property must be sold at no lower than the value specified for the tract number listed for each auction, and bidding will begin at said value for each tract. The county reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to reject any bidder who has defaulted on a land sale contract or is a prohibited bidder as defined in the Terms and Conditions of Sale. Lake County may pursue all legal remedies allowed by law against any bidder who fails to make payment for a winning bid.
The Notice of Tax-Forfeited Land Sale shall be given by publication in the official newspaper and website of the County as provided by law and the parcels of land will be sold by public auction. Auctions will take place at the Lake County Law Enforcement Center, 601 3rd Ave, Two Harbors MN 55616.
The EMV Auction shall commence at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. The Minimum Bid Auction shall commence at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
