A hearing for Andrew Dayette, originally scheduled for Nov. 25, has been rescheduled for Feb. 3, 2025 at the Lake County courthouse in Two Harbors. At this hearing, a trial date is expected to be set for Dayette, who is a resident of Finland, MN. He has been charged with eight gross misdemeanor crimes involving children from two separate instances, one in July 2023 and one in June 2024.
A motion by Dayette’s attorney to dismiss the charges from the 2024 incident due to lack of probable cause was denied on Nov. 1 by Sixth Judicial District Judge Steven B. Hanke.
At the Feb. 3, 2025 hearing, Judge Hanke is also expected to rule on a motion to dismiss a misdemeanor charge of violating a harassment restraining order.
