Grand Marais, MN, February 16, 2026 – The Grand Marais Public Library is thrilled to be hosting Dance for All with Sophia McLaughlin on Wednesday March 4th at 6pm. All are welcome to this contemporary dance class—no experience needed.
Using improvisation and set dance sequences the class will move together to create joyful community. Dancers will copy and create movements that represent shapes, qualities, and patterns. Together the group will learn how observations and imagination can create new and innovative movement possibilities. This program is one hour long and is suited for participants of all ages and abilities. Wear clothes you feel comfortable moving in when attending this free workshop.
Dance Artist Sophia has experience teaching children, young adults, elderly, blind communities, and people with mental and physical disabilities. If you have questions about accessibility for these workshops, please reach out to Chris Determan at chris.determan@alslib.info with questions.
This program, sponsored by Arrowhead Library System, was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund (ACHF).
In other news, the library continues its winter reading program for all ages through the end of March. Youth level bingo prizes can be claimed throughout March.
