With close to 1,500 participants each year, Wednesday Night at the Races series has become one of Young Athletes Foundation’s (YAF) most popular programs!
Helping at a young age to build a love of running, these races are also central to YAF’s mission of providing pathways and opportunities for our community’s children to live healthy and active lifestyles.
The Wednesday Night at the Races series is free and open to any child ages 14 & under. Whether it’s your child’s first-ever race or they’ve just fallen in love with running, YAF would love to see them at their next event!
Online Registration is available until 3 p.m. on each race day, and then switches to in-person registration held onsite beginning at 5 p.m.
The races will start at 6:00 p.m. on each of the dates listed below.

July 31 — Two Harbors High School
July 31 — Proctor High School
August 7 — Duluth East High School
August 14 — Duluth Denfeld High School
August 21 — Hermantown High School
August 28 – Wade Stadium
All sites are wheelchair and adaptive participant accessible. Please see a race official when you arrive.
The weekly event sees an average of 400 children participate each week and is a central pillar in the YAF’s mission to encourage area kids to live active and healthy lifestyles.
Every participant is a champion and receives a ribbon at the end of their event.

4 Years Old & Under – 1/8 mile
5 & 6 Years Old – 1/8 mile
7 & 8 Years Old – 1/4 mile
9 & 10 Years Old – 1/4 mile
11 & 12 Years Old – 1/2 Mile
13 & 14 Years Old- 1/2 Mile
