North Shore Athletes make it Official on Signing Day

National Signing Day, falling on February 5th for the Class of 2025, is a milestone moment for student-athletes across the country, and this year, several area seniors proudly signed their letters of intent, officially committing to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level.

The signers throughout the North Shore are names that likely ring a bell as top athletes in their sports.

Among the local student-athletes who signed on February 5th are:

  • Jacob Carpenter – Football, UW-Stout
  • Chase Pierce – Track and Field, UW-Superior
  • Tate Nelson – Football, University of Minnesota Duluth
  • Cade Smith – Football, UW – River Falls
  • Hunter Rex – Football, UW – River Falls
  • Rachel Bopp – Volleyball, University of Minnesota Morris
  • Trinity Giddings – Track and Field, Minnesota State University, Mankato

Signing Day is not just about the paperwork—it’s a recognition of years of dedication, training, and perseverance.

“We are proud and excited to announce that three Agate football players signed yesterday!” the program shared, highlighting the commitments of Carpenter, Nelson, and Smith.

As these and other athletes in our area prepare for the next chapter of their careers, they carry with them the legacy of their school’s athletics and the support of their hometowns. Congratulations to all the signees!
