LAKE COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT BUILDING MARCH 20, 2023

The Lake County Planning Commis­sion sat in session at 5:00 p.m. on this date and conducted hearings and other business.

I-23-005r– Motion by Bathke support­ed by Shelerud to recommend to County Board 5-year approval, with conditions, for renewal of an interim use application for a vacation rental home filed by Brien and Shelley Getten for the property located at 534 Tomberg Road in Two Harbors and legally described as: That part of the W½ of the E½ of the NW¼; Sec 33, Twp 53 N, Rge 11 W; 16 acres; zoned R-1/ Residen­tial District, shoreland (Knife River), 10- acre minimum; UT-2. PID 25-5311-33250. Motion carried, Sve, Bathke, Shelerud, Unzeitig, and Hoops voting in favor; none opposed. (PCR-23-007)

I-23-006r– Motion by Unzeitig support­ed by Shelerud to recommend to County Board 5-year approval, with conditions, for renewal of an interim use application for a vacation rental home filed by Christy Illig for the property at 6251 Highway 1, Finland MN and legally described as: S 165ft of N 330ft of SE¼ of NE¼ Lying W of MN Hwy 1 as desc in Doc A000199250; Sec 32, Twp 57, Rge 7; 3.28 acres; zoned non-shoreland, R-3/Residential-district, 2.5-acre minimum; Crystal Bay Township. PID 27-5707-32196. Motion carried, Sve, Bathke, Shelerud, Unzeitig, and Hoops voting in favor; none opposed. (PCR-23- 008)

I-23-007r– Motion by Hoops support­ed by Shelerud to recommend to County Board 1-year approval, with conditions, for renewal of an interim use application for a vacation rental home filed by Mitch and Julie Blomquist for the property located at 1825 Cliff Road, Two Harbors and le­gally described as: The E 200ft of W 650ft Lying S of Centerline of US Hwy 61 of Gov’t Lot 3; Sec 22, Twp 53, Rge 10; 2.03 acres; zoned shoreland (Lake Superior), R-4/Residential, 2-acre minimum; Silver Creek Township. PID 29-5310-22400. Motion carried, Sve, Bathke, Shelerud, Unzeitig, and Hoops voting in favor; none opposed. (PCR-23-009)

Motion by Sve supported by Bathke to approve the February 27, 2023, minutes as submitted. Motion carried, Sve, Bathke, Shelerud, Unzeitig, and Hoops voting in fa­vor; none opposed.

Motion by Bathke supported by Sve to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried, Sve, Bathke, Shelerud, Unzeitig, and Hoops voting in favor; none opposed. Meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
