On Saturday, April 27th, the Robo Dweebs will be hosting a “Bricks, Builds, and Bots ‘FUN’draiser”. Sponsored by Lovin’ Lake County and Northern STEM Robotics, the fundraiser is for Robo Dweebs’ upcoming season. The funds will go towards acquiring equipment for community outreach opportunities, and helping rookie team Agate Prime and fellow NSR team from Cloquet Retro Robotics. “We are all working together to bring Two Harbors a fun day of bricks, builds, and bots,” Jenna Udenberg said.
Both exploring activities and competitions will be at the event, and the exploring activities are free and open to the public. Activities include seeing robot demonstrations, solving jigsaw puzzles, and playing with LEGO Jr. and Duplos for the youngest attendees. A community mural will also be created from bricks, offering an artistic contribution to the event. The anticipated measurements for the mural will be either two feet by two feet or four feet by two feet, and it is still looking for a display location in Two Harbors. Fundraiser “goodies”, including art, snacks, build sets, and minifigures, will be available to purchase.
Competitions are also open to the public participating for a fee, as they have potential prizes. It will cost $25 for either the morning or afternoon wave, or $40 for both waves and the option of the Grand Master Build. There will be one larger competition of the Master Build, and three smaller challenges – Mini Master, Blind Build, and Mystery Mayhem. Registration for the competitions is required via QR code or email, and the registration can be found here: https://forms.gle/GG9qGGfcFxPsDJ7Y6.
The Bricks, Builds, and Bots “FUN”draiser will be held at the Two Harbors Community Center from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27. Youth ages 14 and under are required to be supervised.
Since the current forecast for Saturday is in the low 50’s and rainy, it sounds like a perfect time to gather together and create some builds.
