Last week we looked at upcoming events in Two Harbors, and this week it’s time to take a trip up Highway 61 (or Highway 3 if you prefer to avoid the traffic) and visit the Silver Bay Public Library. So grab a home-made apple cider, and let’s go see what Silver Bay has going this month.
Storytime is held every Monday at 10:30 a.m. All ages are welcome, but it is geared towards 0-5 year olds. Stop by the library any time the week of September 11-15 for a “take and make” craft. The craft of the week is a felt fall ornament. From September 15-29, a Finnish star take and make craft will be available, in collaboration with the Duluth Folk School.
Looking to update your resume? On September 21st from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Lisa from CareerForce will be at the Silver Bay Public Library to offer support pertaining to switching jobs, careers, and updating resumes.
At 6 p.m. that evening, join Scott and Eileen to create a zine. A zine is a small-circulation self-published work of original or appropriated content. Scott and Eileen will return for another zine program on September 28th at 6 p.m.
From September 26th to October 6th, the library will have a “stay and make” mixed media wall hanging project. On September 27th at 6 p.m., Art Fendstad, author and collector of stories of local history, will be sharing some of his stories he’s collected.
