The North Shore Artists League (NSAL) was organized in January 2019 as a non-profit association of artists living in the Minnesota counties and Tribal nations that comprise the North Shore of Lake Superior from Grand Portage to Duluth. NSAL conducts annual April exhibits for members’ work at Johnson Heritage Post Gallery in Grand Marais. The organization serves as a provider of information, connections, opportunities and inspiration for artists, by artists, through meetings, emails, collaborations and their website.
Since opening in 1983, the Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, Wisconsin, has become known as the principal center for artistic activities of the St. Croix River Valley in Wisconsin and Minnesota. It is a non-profit organization devoted to the performing and visual arts. The Center’s community-based Arts Council’s mission is to serve as a “welcoming and open home for the St. Croix River Valley region and beyond to empower and cultivate lifelong artistic expression, participation, and appreciation.” More information on the Phipps can be found at: https://thephipps.org More information about the North Shore Artists League is available at: https://northshoreartistsleague.com
