Funding will help city stormwater drainage and diversion reclamation
(SILVER BAY, Minn.) – Senator Grant Hauschild (DFL-Hermantown) is announcing $475,000 in funding has been awarded to Silver Bay from the Department of Natural Resources Flood Hazard Mitigation Program. The funding will help mitigation efforts around stormwater drainage and diversion reclamation.
“This state funding is critical for helping Silver Bay have the right infrastructure in place to reduce the risk of flooding in our community and is another example of the strong partnerships we need between the state and local communities,” said Sen. Hauschild. “I’m grateful we passed a bonding bill last session that supported communities like Silver Bay with these projects.”
The 2026 bonding bill included $9 million in funding for the DNR’s Flood Hazard Mitigation Program, and Silver Bay was one of only five entities to secure funding through a competitive grant process.
