Her mother, Rachel Gischia, proudly reports that Aili Gischia, Two Harbors High School Class of 2025, has spent her first year at St. Olaf College shaping the kind of future she has long imagined. She earned a place on the dean’s list throughout her freshman year. That’s quite a feat on its own but this is all while Aili has also been building a path that blends environmental studies with musical theater, finding her rhythm in Norseman Band, the musical theater lab, and the Veselica International Dance Company.
She also taught ballet at Northfield Dance Academy, keeping one foot in the discipline that has guided her since childhood.
This spring, Gischia pushed that dream farther from home, completing a two‑week musical theater intensive at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York City. Her acceptance into the program’s pre‑professional track marks a step toward the work she hopes to pursue.
She is back on the North Shore for the summer, nannying and working at Betty’s Pies.
The North Shore Journal would like to feature more local alumni and the paths they are taking after high school. Parents, grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles, and any alumni fans are invited to share updates about their students, whether they are in college, the trades, the military, or the workforce.
